World Vitiligo Day with Beutiligo
A Celebration of Visibility, Dignity, and Policy Progress
On June 25th, we joined hands with Beutiligo to commemorate World Vitiligo Day—a global movement dedicated to awareness, education, and empowerment for those living with vitiligo.
This Year’s Event Was Especially Meaningful, Bringing Together:
- Medical experts who shared insights on dermatological care and inclusive treatment approaches.
- Vitiligo patients and individuals with Albinism, whose stories reminded us of the strength in visibility and the need for compassionate healthcare.
- Dr. Sipho Senabe, Chief Director of Macro Policy Analysis at the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), whose presence underscored the importance of policy advocacy in shaping inclusive public health systems.
Dr Senabe’s work in mainstreaming HIV/AIDS and TB policies within the public service has long championed dignity, wellness, and systemic equity—values that resonate deeply with the vitiligo and albinism communities.
This Gathering Wasn’t Just Symbolic; It Was Strategic. It Reaffirmed Our Commitment To:
Advocate for inclusive health policies
Challenge stigma through education and storytelling
Build bridges between patients, practitioners, and policymakers.
